the best way to lower credit card payments?
Here a question. My wife and I have about ,000 in credit cards. they are all 0% interest and I am current with all my payments (I pay minimally 50% over the minimum.)
I dream of being out of debt but it seems I never will be. We want to buy a house and when reviewing our finances i see what could be a good chunckof a mortage payment going to credit cards.
Is there a smarter way of repayment?

0 Percent No Interest Credit Cards and canceling them?
My wife and I credit has always been in the low 800’s(which I consider good). We have a total of 3 credit cards. Two in which we use all our purchases for and pay off each month and the other(the non interest) in which we use for things outsidte the ordinary(i.e. dental expenses, health care, trips booked online, home expenses). We usually get a 10K limit and at the most spend around 4K and each month, then I pay 200 dollars a month and at the last month of the no interest pay it off with my tax refund which exceeds the balance.
Once that is done we cancel it and get another one in which is usually 12 months no interest.
I heard that this can hurt your credit, but ours has remained the same. Please let me know if there is anything we should do differently.
Again, need to emphasize that we keep two revolving ones open for the last 10 years which shows good payment and have no debt at all Thank you.

My 0% balance transfer card is about to expire. How long should I wait to apply for another 0% card?
Currently, I have 6 credit cards: Nordstrom, Citibank, Amax Blue, Nordstrom, Capitalone, HSBC.
Nordstrom and Citibank: everyday purchase and pay off statement balance every month on time.
Capitalone: card for cash advance since they mail me checks every month, I just deposit most of the balance into my bank account and pay them off statement balance every month as well.
Amax Blue: 0% intro interest expired Jan 2008. Since then, I rarely use this card. I have under charges monthly, and pay off every month on time.
HSBC: my 0% interest rate is expiring in June, just got this card in Dec 2007. I carry a high balance all 5 months and pay on time, never late, and will pay off statement balance at the last month of 0% offer.
Here’s the question: When should I wait to apply for another 0% credit card? I’m planning on using husband and my credit back and forth to apply for 0% card. How long should each person wait to apply for one? When should I cancel after the 0% expires?

How do we go about getting a 0% APR card with the information provided?
My husband and I are getting ready for our baby. We need to buy all the things he’ll need. So we want to apply for a credit card with 0% APR to make all the purchases. We are planing to pay it off by the time the 0 % ends. We’ve looked into some credit cards and well it’s confusing…
Also we don’t know how to calculate how good his credit is. If it’s good should we apply for one that requires fair credit only so we don’t get turned down.
We used to have credit cards but we can’t work with interest bc religion so we payed the off and canceled them last year. So we haven’t done anything that involves interest since last year.
Also he heard that If we just go to a company and give them our info so that they tell us which cards we are qualified for instead of applying for an specific one. If so which is he best company?
Thanks for all you help!
Well we applied for an apt about 5 months ago and we applied for a 2 iPhones with AT&T. Both of this were aproved. But other than that.. We have 2 debit cards.
We have had a 0% APR credit card before, so I guess our credit is not that bad.

Is it bad to have had a bunch of different credit cards even if you’ve canceled them?
I always get the credit cards with 0% introductory interest rate and then once the 6 or 12 months or whatever the time frame is for teh introductory rate runs out then I cancel the card and get a different one with 0%. I usually only have 2-3 active cards at one time but is this hard on my credit to have had all these different cards even though I cancel them.
P.S. I have also always paid at least the minimum balance or more on time and I always get the full balance paid off before the introductory period is up.
The thing that people seem to be misunderstanding is that I’m not getting new credit cards constantly.I get a new one maybe once a year or every 15 months so they aren’t doing credit checks all the time. Plus I do have one card I have had for years so that helps to raise my credit. I’m not in huge debt and just moving the debt from card to card..as I explained before I pay off every card before I cancel it. I have good credit from a recent credit report. That’s not the issue! I just want to make sure it doesn’t lower my credit score by doing this.
